Tina McDuffie to give keynote at NESPA conference

McDuffie to speak on how students can become powerful journalists

Tina McDuffie, the Edward R. Murrow award-winning host of the Local, USA series on WORLD Channel Network based at WGBH in Boston, will give the keynote presentation at NESPA’s annual conference on Friday, May 5 from 8:30 am to 3 pm at Boston University’s College of Communication.

She will speak on how students can develop their gifts/talents and become powerful journalists. 

Prior to joining the  Boston University journalism faculty, McDuffie reported regularly for WGBH’s Greater Boston and often served as a fill-in host on the station’s Basic Black program.

She has contributed to NPR, PBS NewsHour, KPBS and WGBY as well as to the Huffington Post.

She currently teaches as an associate professor of the practice of journalism at Boston University where she also is the journalism advisor for BUTV—the university’s award winning television station

Also at the May 5 conference delegates will find panels, exhibits, round-tables and workshops where they can learn about the latest trends, and share concerns and ideas.

Award presentations will honor outstanding productions and publications.
